Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 9, 2026 | Last updated: June 9, 2026
H&C Education, Inc. (“H&C Education,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to the responsible use and protection of personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through hceducationconsulting.com (the “Site”), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. Throughout this policy, “personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you or a member of your family.
This policy applies to the Site. The provision of our consulting and tutoring services is governed by the separate written agreement between you and H&C Education; where that agreement addresses the handling of client information, it controls for those services.
Who We Are
H&C Education, Inc. is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us using the details in the Contact Us section below.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information in three ways: information you provide to us, information collected automatically when you use the Site, and information we receive from third parties.
Information you provide. When you request a consultation, sign up for our newsletter, complete a form, or otherwise contact us, you may provide information such as your name, the student’s name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, the student’s grade level and academic interests, and any other details you choose to share about yourself or your family. You are never required to provide personal information to browse the Site, but some features (such as requesting a consultation) cannot be offered without it.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring pages, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies, described in the Cookies and Tracking Technologies section below. We may also infer your approximate location from your IP address.
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from service providers, advertising and analytics partners, and from individuals who refer you to us, to the extent permitted by law.
Children’s and Students’ Information
Because we advise students and their families, we knowingly collect personal information about minors — typically provided by a parent, guardian, or the student’s family — for the purpose of delivering and supporting our services.
The Site itself is intended for use by parents, guardians, and adult students, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 through the Site without verifiable parental consent. Where we hold information about a student who is a minor, we treat it as confidential, use it only for the purposes described in this policy and our client agreement, and act on the instructions of the parent or guardian. A parent or guardian may review, update, or request deletion of their child’s information by contacting us as described below.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your inquiries and requests, including consultation requests;
- provide, support, and improve our services and the Site;
- communicate with you about the Site and the services you have requested;
- send you newsletters, updates, and marketing communications where you have asked to receive them or where otherwise permitted by law (you may opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such message or by contacting us);
- understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve content and performance;
- maintain the security and integrity of the Site;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Legal bases (for individuals in the EEA and UK). Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on the following legal bases: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time); the performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request before entering a contract; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and promoting our business (balanced against your rights); and compliance with our legal obligations.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device that help a website function and allow us to understand how the Site is used. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Analytics cookies, which help us understand how visitors interact with the Site. We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for this purpose. These tools collect information such as the pages you visit and the time you spend on the Site, in aggregated and de-identified form where possible.
- Functionality cookies, which remember choices you make, such as whether you have already subscribed to our newsletter or submitted a form.
Where required by law — including for visitors in the EEA and UK — we request your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can accept, decline, or manage your preferences through the cookie banner presented on your first visit. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect how parts of the Site function. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We share information with companies that perform functions on our behalf — such as website hosting, email and form processing, analytics, scheduling, payment processing, and administrative, legal, or accounting services. These providers may access personal information only as needed to perform their functions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Legal and protective disclosures. We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that doing so is required or permitted by law — for example, to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety, or property of H&C Education, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. If H&C Education is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the commitments in this policy.
- With your direction or consent. We share information with third parties when you ask us to or otherwise consent.
Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you is not subject to the restrictions above.
International Data Transfers
H&C Education is based in the United States, and we serve clients globally. If you are located outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum — for transfers of personal information out of the EEA and UK.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — including providing services, maintaining our client relationship, and meeting our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations — after which we securely delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the context in which it was collected.
How We Protect Information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include access controls that limit who within H&C Education can access personal information, network protections, and encryption of sensitive information in transit where appropriate. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Site.
Your Privacy Rights
For individuals in the EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; to request correction of inaccurate information; to request deletion; to restrict or object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
For California residents. Subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request access to and a copy of that information; to request correction; to request deletion; and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out of sale or sharing is required; we honor the Global Privacy Control regardless. You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Exercising your rights. To make any request, email us at info@hceducationconsulting.com or use the contact details below. We will verify your request before responding — typically by confirming information we already hold — and will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. There is no charge for exercising your rights, except where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the updated policy on this page. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice as required by law. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
